The depth of our
revelations depends upon the correctness of our doctrine.
THE BEGINNING OF
SORROWS
(Mat 24:7-13)
For nation [country]
shall rise against nation, and kingdom
[religion] against kingdom: and there shall be famines [Gk: a scarcity of food: hunger], and pestilences [plagues,
e.g., HIV/AIDS, Ebola], and
earthquakes [Gk: commotions], in
divers places. All these are
the beginning of sorrows [Gk: pangs
or throes, especially of
childbirth: - pain, travail /// grief].
Then shall they deliver you up [Gk:
surrender (you)] to be afflicted [Gk: pressured: anguished, burdened, persecuted, tribulation, troubled],
and shall kill you [Gk: (to slay); to kill
outright; fig. to destroy: - put
to death]: and ye shall be hated
of all nations for my name's sake [i.e.,
for our belief in Jesus Christ rather than belief in Allah].
And then shall many be
offended [Gk: “scandalized”; entrapped,
tripped up, stumble,
enticed (to sin, to apostasy)], and shall betray
[Gk: surrender] one another,
and shall hate one another. And many
false prophets [primarily the news
media (Rev 13:11-17), plus political leaders and deceived religious leaders]
shall rise, and shall deceive many. And
because iniquity [Gk:
lawlessness, wickedness: unrighteousness] shall
abound [Gk: increase: multiply],
the love [Gk:
agape] [sacrificial love] of many
[“If ye love me, keep my commandments.” John 14:15] shall
wax cold [Gk: to chill (by implication, of reduction of temperature by
evaporation)] [i.e., “stony ground” and “among thorns” persons].
But he that shall endure unto the
end [those of us who are true to the Lord, and “alive and remain” unto
the return of Jesus Christ and our “rapture”], the same shall be saved [Gk: sos (“safe”); delivered, protected: - healed, preserved, save
(self), do well, be (made) whole].
THE
GREAT TRIBULATION
(Rev 12:1-17)
And there appeared a great wonder in heaven; a
woman [the Church]
clothed with the sun, and the moon [the
symbol of Islam] under her feet,
and upon her head a crown of twelve stars
[the twelve tribes of Israel: Rev 7:1-8]:
And she being with child cried,
travailing in birth, and pained to be delivered [of the 100 fold Company, the 300 who “lapped” the water: Judg
7:6,7]. And there appeared another
wonder in heaven; and behold a
great red dragon, having seven heads and ten horns, and seven crowns
upon his heads. And his tail drew the
third part of the stars of heaven, and did cast them to the earth [i.e.,
fallen angels]: and the dragon stood before the woman which was ready to be
delivered, for to devour her child as
soon as it was born. And she brought
forth a man child, who was to rule all nations with a rod of iron: and
her child was caught up unto God, and to
his throne. And the woman fled into the wilderness, where she hath a place prepared of God, that they should feed
her there a thousand two hundred and
threescore days [1260 days = 42 months
or 3 ½ years]. And there was war in
heaven: Michael and his angels fought against the dragon; and the dragon
fought and his angels, And prevailed not; neither was their place found any more
in heaven. And the great dragon was
cast out, that old serpent, called the Devil, and Satan, which
deceiveth the whole world: he was cast out into the earth, and his angels
were cast out with him. And I heard a loud voice saying in heaven, Now
is come salvation, and strength, and the kingdom of our God, and the power
of his Christ: for the accuser of our brethren is cast down, which accused them
before our God day and night. And they
overcame him by the blood of the Lamb, and by the word of their testimony; and
they loved not their lives unto the death. Therefore rejoice, ye
heavens, and ye that dwell in them. Woe to the inhabiters of the earth and of
the sea! for the devil is come down unto
you, having great wrath [for
the 3 ½ years of Great Tribulation], because he knoweth that he hath but
a short time. And when the dragon saw that he was cast unto the earth, he
persecuted the woman which brought forth the man child.
And to the woman were given two wings of
a great eagle [Father God is the great
eagle, the two wings are the Old Testament and the New Testament], that she
might fly into the wilderness, into her [“prepared”
v.6] place, where she is nourished
[fed spiritual food] for a time, and times, and half a time [3 ½ years during the Great Tribulation of Satan’s wrath: v.12],
from the face of the serpent. And the serpent cast out of his mouth water [peoples]
as a flood after the woman, that he might cause her to be carried away of the
flood. And the earth helped the woman,
and the earth opened her mouth, and swallowed up the flood which the dragon cast
out of his mouth. And the dragon was
wroth with the woman [who was in a
safe place prepared by God and untouchable during the Great Tribulation],
and went to make war with the remnant
of her seed [those who remain on the earth, those who “bowed down upon their knees
to drink water” Judg 7:6; the 30 fold and 60 fold companies],
which keep the commandments of God, and
have the testimony of Jesus Christ.
THE
SECOND COMING OF JESUS CHRIST
will
simultaneously end the Great Tribulation, rapture the Saints, and begin the
Millennium
Rev
19:1-21
THE
MILLENNIUM
(Rev 20:4-6)
And I saw thrones, and they sat upon them, and judgment was given unto them: and
I saw the souls of them that
were beheaded [past
tense, these are the 30 fold and 60 fold “remnant of her seed” during the
Great Tribulation] for the witness of
Jesus, and for the word of God, and which had not worshipped the beast, neither
his image, neither had received his
mark upon their foreheads, or in their hands; and they lived and reigned
with Christ a thousand years. But the rest of the dead [the unsaved] lived not again until the thousand years were
finished. This is
the first resurrection [i.e.,
being “caught up” the rapture: 1 Thes 4:13-17]. Blessed and holy is he
that hath part in the first resurrection: on such the second death
hath no power, but they shall be priests
of God and of Christ, and shall reign
[as “kings and priests” Rev 1:6; 5:10]
with him a thousand years.
Amen
