LET US MAKE MAN IN OUR IMAGE, AFTER OUR
LIKENESS
05-13-12
(Gen 1:26-28) And God [Heb: 'elohiym:
gods (plural)] said, Let us make man in our
image, after our likeness: and let them
have dominion [Heb: reign, rule] over the fish of the sea, and
over the fowl of the air, and over the cattle, and over all the earth, and
over every creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth. So God created man
in his own image, in the image of God created he
him; male and female created he them [in one
unit]. And God blessed them, and God said unto them,
Be fruitful, and multiply, and replenish the earth [Jer
4:23-26], and subdue it [Heb: to tread down; to
conquer, subjugate: bring into bondage, bring into subjection]: and
have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air,
and over every living thing that moveth upon the earth.
1.
(John 4:24) God is a Spirit [invisible, (not
material)]: and they that worship him must worship him in spirit and
in truth.
2.
(1 John 3:1-3) Behold, what manner of love the Father hath
bestowed upon us, that we should be called the sons [Gk: children]
of God: therefore the world knoweth us not, because it knew him not.
Beloved, now are we the sons of God, and it
doth not yet appear what we shall be: but we know that, when he
shall appear, we shall be like him; for we shall see him
as he is. And every man that hath this hope in him
purifieth himself, even as he is pure.
3.
(1 John 4:8) He that loveth not knoweth not God; for God is
love [Gk: agape; love, i.e. affection or benevolence; (plur.) a
love-feast: (feast of) charity, dear /// to love (in a social or moral
sense): (be-) love (-ed)].
4.
(1 John 4:16) And we have known and believed the love that God
hath to us. God is love; and he that dwelleth in love
dwelleth in God [Gk: to stay (in a given place, state,
relation or expectancy): abides, continues, stands], and God in him.
Amen
