The brightness of our
revelations depends upon the correctness of our doctrines (our building blocks)
FRUIT
MORE FRUIT
MUCH FRUIT
(John 15:1-5) I am the true vine [Gk: a vine (as coiling about a support)], and my Father is the husbandman [Gk: a land worker, farmer]. Every branch in me that beareth not
fruit he taketh away [ultimately,
it disappears from our eternal consciousness]: and every branch that
beareth fruit [Gk: fruit (as
plucked)], he purgeth it [Gk: cleanse, to prune /// clean, clear], that it may bring forth more fruit.
Now ye are clean through the word [Gk: logos] [of God, the Bible]
[1,2] which I have spoken unto you. Abide [9x] [Gk: dwell, endure, remain] in me [in John 1:14], and I in
you. As the branch cannot bear fruit of itself, except it abide [Gk: dwell, endure, remain] in the vine; no more can ye, except
ye abide [Gk: dwell, endure, remain] in me. I am the vine, ye are the branches: He that abideth [Gk: dwell, endure, remain] in me, and I in him, the same bringeth
forth much fruit [3]: for without me ye can do nothing.
1. (Luke
8:11) Now the parable is this: The seed is the word [Gk:
logos] of God.
2. (John
1:14) And the
Word [the logos; of God, the
Bible] was made flesh [in/as the body Jesus Christ], and dwelt
among us, (and we beheld his glory,
the glory as of the only begotten of the
Father,) full of grace and truth.
3. (Mark 4:20) And these are they which are sown on good ground; such as hear the word [Gk: logos], and receive it,
and bring forth fruit, some thirtyfold
[“fruit”], some sixty [“more fruit”],
and some an hundred [“much fruit”].
(John 15:6,7) If a man abide [Gk: dwell, endure, remain]
not in me [i.e., the word of
God, the Bible], he is cast forth
as a branch, and is withered [Gk:
desiccated; shriveled: dried up] [1];
and men gather them, and cast them
into the fire, and they are burned [Gk:
consumed]. If ye abide [Gk: dwell, endure, remain] in me, and my words [Gk: rhema; revelations] abide [Gk: dwell, endure, remain] in
you, ye shall ask what ye will, and it shall be done unto you [as an empowered instrument of God].
1. (Eph 5:25,26) Husbands, love your wives, even as Christ also loved the church, and gave himself for it; That he might sanctify and cleanse it with the washing of water by
the word [Gk: rhema; revelations],
(John
15:8-11)
Herein is my Father glorified, that ye bear much fruit; so shall
ye be my disciples [Gk:
learners, pupils]. As the Father
hath loved me, so have I loved you: continue ye in my love. If [a warning] ye keep my commandments, ye shall abide [Gk: dwell, endure, remain] in my love; even as I have kept my
Father's commandments, and abide [Gk:
dwell, endure, remain] in his love.
These things have I spoken unto you, that my joy: [Gk: cheerfulness, calm delight gladness] might remain [Gk:
dwell, endure, remain] in you, and that your joy [Gk: cheerfulness, calm delight gladness] might be full [Gk: complete].
(John
15:12-16) This is my commandment, That ye love [Gk: agape] [i.e., sacrificial love] one another, as I have loved you.
Greater [sacrificial] love hath no man than this, that a man
lay down his life for his friends. Ye are my friends, if ye do whatsoever
I command you. Henceforth I call you not servants; for the servant
knoweth not what his lord doeth: but I have called you friends; for all
things that I have heard of my Father I have made known unto you [through the Word of God, the Bible]. Ye have not chosen [Gk: selected] me, but I have chosen [Gk: selected] you, and ordained [Dict: to invest with ministerial functions;
confer holy orders upon] you, that
ye should go and bring forth fruit, and that your fruit should remain [Gk: dwell, endure, remain]:
that whatsoever ye shall ask of the Father in my name, he may give it
you.
(John
15:17-19) These things I command you, that ye love
one another. If the world [Gk:
kosmos; “cosmos” (universe)] hate
[Gk: detest, persecute] you, ye know that it hated me
before it hated you. If ye
were of the world [universe], the world [universe] would love his
own: but because ye are not of the world [universe], but I have
chosen you out of the world [universe], therefore the world [universe] hateth you.
(John
15:20-27) Remember the word [Gk: logos] that I said unto you, The servant is not greater than his lord.
If they have persecuted me, they will also persecute you; if they have
kept my saying, they will keep yours also. But all these things will
they do unto you for my name's sake, because they know not him that sent
me. If I had not come and spoken unto them, they had not had sin:
but now they have no cloke for their sin. He that hateth me hateth my
Father also. If I had not done among them the works which none other man did, they
had not had sin: but now have they both seen and hated both me and my
Father. But this cometh to pass,
that the word [Gk: logos] might be fulfilled that is written in
their law, They hated me without a cause. But when the Comforter [Gk: parakletos; intercessor, consoler:
advocate, comforter] [i.e., the Holy Spirit] is come, whom I will send unto you from
the Father, even the Spirit
of truth, which proceedeth from the Father, he shall testify of
me: And ye also shall bear witness, because ye have been with me from
the beginning.
Amen
