The brightness of our revelations depends upon the correctness of our doctrines (our building blocks)

(2 Pet 2:4-9)  For if God spared not the angels that sinned [Gen 6:1,2], but cast them down to hell, and delivered them into chains of darkness, to be reserved unto judgment; And spared not the old world, but saved Noah [a man of great faith] the eighth person, a preacher of righteousness, bringing in the flood upon the world of the ungodly; And turning the cities of Sodom [Heb: scorched, burnt (a volcanic or bituminous [tar]) district] [i.e., false doctrines] and Gomorrha [Heb: a ruined heap /// to gather grain: bind sheaves, make merchandise of] [i.e., false works] into ashes condemned them with an overthrow, making them an ensample [example] unto those that after should live ungodly; And delivered just [Gk: innocent, holy: righteous] Lot, vexed [Gk: wear down with toil: oppressed] [“and shall wear out the saints” Dan 7:25] with the filthy conversation [Gk: behavior] of the wicked: (For that righteous man dwelling among them, in seeing and hearing, vexed his righteous soul from day to day with their unlawful deeds;) The Lord knoweth how to deliver the godly out of temptations, and to reserve the unjust unto the day of judgment to be punished:

(Gen 19:1-3)  And there came two angels [“my two witnesses” Gen 18:2 & Rev 11:3] to Sodom [Heb: scorched, burnt (a volcanic or bituminous [tar]) district] [1] at even; and Lot [Heb: a veil, covering] [covering Sodom until he (the covering symbolizing all believers) is “taken out of the way” 2 Thes 2:7; raptured: Dict: ecstatic delight] sat in the gate of Sodom [i.e., in a position of power, prestige, and wealth]: and Lot seeing them [i.e., identified them as angels] rose up to meet them; and he bowed himself [Heb: to prostrate (in homage or royalty or God): fall down, do reverence, worship] with his face toward the ground; And he said, Behold now, my lords, turn in [i.e., change your path], I pray you, into your servant's house, and tarry all night, and wash your feet, and ye shall rise up early, and go on your ways [(thereby avoiding any contact with the people of the city)]. And they said, Nay; but we will abide in the street all night. And he pressed [Heb: urged] upon them greatly [Heb: exceedingly]; and they turned [alike as Jacob turned the angel (God) that he wrestled with: Gen 32:24; Hos 12:2-4 with strong prayers] in unto him, and entered into his house [i.e., accepted his earthly hospitality; symbolically, the two Spirits of God entered into his soul, “my two witnesses” Rev 11:3]; and he made them a feast, and did bake unleavened bread [Heb: an unfermented cake: unleavened bread], and they did eat [eating with angels the manna (Word) of God: a celebration of the Feast of unleavened bread, i.e., Passover].

1.     (1 Tim 4:1,2)  Now the Spirit speaketh expressly [Gk: distinctly], that in the latter times some shall depart from the faith, giving heed to seducing spirits, and doctrines of devils; Speaking lies in hypocrisy [Gk: acting under a feigned part, deceit]; having their conscience [Gk: perception, moral consciousness /// understanding] seared with a hot iron [Gk: branded (cauterized), rendered unsensitive];

(Gen 19:4-9)  But before they lay down [before they rested (Heavenly rest)], the men of the city, even the men of Sodom, compassed round [Heb: surrounded] [with unbelievers, as are we] the house [a type and shadow of Heaven], both old and young, all the people from every quarter: And they called unto Lot, and said unto him, Where are the men [the Sodomites were unable to perceive the spiritual reality that the two handsome “men” were angels] which came in to thee this night? bring them out unto us, that we may know [“be intimate with” Amplif. Bible] them. And Lot went out at the door [“I am the door” John 10:7,9] [Lot’s missionary work] unto them, and [Lot] shut the door [protected – defended Jesus Christ] after him, And said, I pray you, brethren, do not so wickedly [i.e., change your ways]. Behold now, I have two daughters which have not known man [“who are virgins” Amplif.]; let me, I pray you, bring them out unto you, and do ye to them as is good in your eyes: only unto these men do nothing; for therefore came they under the shadow [“protection” Amplif.] of my roof. And they [the men of the city] said, Stand back. And they said again, This one fellow [Lot] came in to sojourn [“to live here temporarily” Amplif.], and he will needs be a judge [i.e., he thinks he is a judge, making decisions concerning us]: now will we deal worse with thee [Lot], than with them. And they pressed sore [Heb: vehemently: exceedingly] [violently] upon the man [1], even Lot, and came near to break the door.

1.     (2 Tim 3:12)  Yea, and all that will live godly in Christ Jesus shall suffer persecution.

(Gen 19:10,11)  But the men [the two angels; the two witnesses] put forth their hand [singular, symbolizing the power of God], and pulled Lot [a type and shadow of the specific rapture (Dict: ecstatic delight): 1 Thes 4:17; Rev 12:5; “being the firstfruits unto God and to the Lamb” Rev 14:4,5] into the house [a type and shadow of Heaven] to them, and shut to the door [first Lot shut the/his door (v.6), and then the angels shut the door] [1]. And they smote [Heb: strike (lightly or severely), wounded, killed, give stripes] the men that were at the door of the house with blindness [“God shall send them strong delusion” 2 Thes 2:11], both small and great: so that they wearied themselves [“groping” Amplif.] [i.e., in Great Tribulation] to find the door.

1.     (Gen 3:24)  So he drove out the man; and he placed at the east [the door] of the garden of Eden Cherubims [angelic creatures], and a flaming sword [“the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God” Eph 6:17] which turned every way, to keep [Heb: protect] the way [“I am the way” John 14:6] of the tree of life.

(Gen 19:12-14)  And the men [the two angels; the two witnesses] said unto Lot, Hast thou here any besides? son in law, and thy sons, and thy daughters, and whatsoever thou hast in the city, bring them out of this place: For we will destroy this place, because the cry [Heb: shriek /// proclamation] of them is waxen great before the face of the LORD; and the LORD hath sent us to destroy it [Heb: to utterly waste it]. And Lot went out [as a missionary], and spake unto his sons in law, which married his daughters [“which have not known man” v.8], and said, Up, get you out of this place; for the LORD will destroy this city. But he seemed as one that mocked [“only joking” Amplif.] [“as in fun or derision” Dict.] unto his sons in law.

(Gen 19:15,16)  And when [while] the morning [sun/Son] arose, then the angels hastened [Heb: hurried] Lot, saying, Arise, take thy wife, and thy two daughters, which are here [i.e., living with Lot rather than their husbands]; lest thou be consumed [“For our God is a consuming fire.” Heb 12:29] in the iniquity [Heb: perversity, evil: sin] of the city. And while he [Lot] lingered [Heb: hesitated, to be reluctant], the men [angels] laid hold upon [Heb: seized] [a type and shadow of the general rapture (Dict: ecstatic delight): Rev 12:6,14] his hand, and upon the hand of his wife, and upon the hand of his two daughters; the LORD being merciful unto him: and they brought him forth, and set him without [outside] the city [Rev 12:6,14].

(Gen 19:17-22)  And it came to pass, when they had brought them forth abroad [Heb: separated], that he [the angel] said, Escape for thy life; look not behind thee, neither stay thou in all the plain; escape to the mountain, lest thou be consumed. And Lot [a man of little faith] said unto them, Oh, not so, my Lord [reluctant Lot manifests his disobedience, i.e., his lack of faith]: Behold now, thy servant hath found grace in thy sight, and thou hast magnified thy mercy, which thou hast shewed unto me in saving my life; and I cannot escape to the mountain, lest some evil take me, and I die [i.e., not living by faith, not trusting in the invisible]: Behold now, this city is near to flee unto [but still living by sight], and it is a little one [a little sin of disobedience; righteous Lot had little faith]: Oh, let me escape thither, (is it not a little one?) and my soul shall live. And he [the angel] said unto him, See, I have accepted thee concerning this thing also, that I will not overthrow this city, for the which thou hast spoken. Haste thee, escape thither [Heb: there]; for I cannot do any thing till thou be come thither. Therefore the name of the city was called Zoar [Heb: little] [Rev 12:6,14].

(Gen 19:23-26)  The sun [Son] was risen [“the glory which shall be revealed in us” Rom 8:18] upon the earth when Lot entered into Zoar [with his family for a time; a time destined to be “shortened”: Mat 24:22; Mark 13:20 & Rev 12:6,14 & Rev 12:12; 17:10]. Then the LORD rained upon Sodom [Heb: to scorch, burnt] [i.e., false doctrines] and upon Gomorrah [Heb: a ruined heap /// to gather grain: bind sheaves, make merchandise of] [i.e., false works] brimstone and fire from the LORD out of heaven; And he overthrew those cities, and all the plain [including Zoar a short time later], and all the inhabitants of the cities, and that which grew upon the ground. But his wife looked back from behind him [longing for her loving lesbian friends rather than for the love of God], and she [crying large salty tears] became a pillar [Heb: statue] [i.e., hardened] of salt [Heb: powder, salt (as easily pulverized and dissolved)] [in the rain].

(Gen 19:30) And [shortly later] Lot went up [Heb: ascended] out of Zoar [Lot and his family are raptured], and dwelt in the mountain [finally manifesting obedience and faith, but motivated by fear], and his two daughters with him; for he feared to dwell in Zoar [1]: and he dwelt in a cave, he and his two daughters.

1.     (Jude 1:22,23)  And of some have compassion, making a difference: And others [like Lot] save with fear, pulling [Gk: harpazo; seize] them out of the fire; hating even the garment spotted by the flesh.
