(Rev
1:3)
Blessed [Gk: fortunate, well off: happy]
is he that readeth, and they
that hear the words of this prophecy, and keep those things which are
written
therein: for the time is at
hand.
BINDING STRONG DELUSION
(Rev 20:1-3)
And I saw an angel [Gk: messenger] [Christ Jesus] come down from heaven, having
the
key of the bottomless pit [Gk: a well, fig. an abyss (as a
prison)] and a great chain
in his hand.
And he laid hold on the dragon, that old serpent,
which is the Devil,
and Satan, and bound [Gk: tied] him a thousand years, And cast him into the
bottomless
pit, and shut him up, and set a
seal upon him, that he should
deceive [Gk:
cause to roam (from safety, truth, or virtue): go astray, err, be
seduced,
wander, be out of the way] the nations no more,
till the thousand years [the Millennium] should be fulfilled:
and after
that he must be loosed a little season.
GENERALITIES: THE RELEASE OF STRONG DELUSION
(2 Thes 2:8-12) And then shall
that Wicked [antichrist –
in the flesh] be revealed
[Gk: to take off the cover,
disclosed], whom the Lord
[“The
Word of God” Rev 19:13] shall
consume with the spirit of his mouth [words
against words, breathe to breathe], and
shall destroy [Gk:
render entirely idle (useless)] with
the brightness [brilliant
glorified light] of his
[second]
coming [Gk:
return]: Even
him [antichrist], whose
coming is after [Gk:
after the manner of] the
working of Satan with all
power [Gk: dunamis;
miraculous
power] and signs
[Gk: miracles] and lying wonders, And with all
deceivableness [Gk:
delusion: deceit] of unrighteousness
in them that perish
[Gk: are destroyed fully]; because they received not the love
of the truth [versus false lies], that they might be saved [born-again, imputed for righteousness]. And for this cause God shall send them
strong delusion, that they should believe a lie:
That they all might
be damned [Gk:
condemned] who
believed not the truth, but had pleasure in unrighteousness.
PARTICULARS: THE RELEASE OF STRONG DELUSION
(Rev 9:1,2)
And the fifth angel sounded, and I saw a star
[Christ Jesus] fall from heaven unto the earth:
and
to him was given the key of the bottomless pit. And
he opened the
bottomless pit; and there arose [Gk: ascended] a [thick dark] smoke out of the pit [the shrieking cries of the
unchained
fallen angels],
as the [vast
dense]
smoke of a great furnace [1];
and the sun and the air [2] were
darkened
[i.e.,
without light] [3] by
reason of the smoke of the pit.
1.
(Rev
8:3,4) And [at the opening of the seventh seal]
another angel came and stood at the altar [of incense], having a
golden censer [of fiery coals
gotten
from the altar of burnt offerings]; and there was given unto
him much incense
[Heb: fragrant powder burnt in religious service], that he
should
offer it with
the prayers of all saints upon the
golden altar which was before the throne. And
the smoke of the incense, which
came with the
prayers of the saints, ascended up before God
out of the angel's
hand.
2.
air
= Gk: 109 aer;
to breathe unconsciously, respire. (Dict: to
breathe; inhale and exhale air); as
when uttering
words.
3.
(John 8:12)
Then spake Jesus again unto them, saying, I
[the
Word of God: John 1:14, and] am the
light of the world [Gk: kosmos;
cosmos, (universe)]: he that followeth me shall
not walk in darkness, but shall have the
light of life.
(Rev 9:3-6) And there came out of the
smoke
locusts [1] upon the earth: and unto them was given
power [by whom?] [by
Satan], as the scorpions
of the earth have
power [poison in their penetrating
sting (symbolic of evil words entering into you)]. And it was commanded them
that they should not hurt the
grass of the earth, neither any green thing [in contrast to Moses in the eighth Egyptian
plague of locusts: “and
there remained not any green thing” Exo 10:15],
neither any tree [symbol
of godly men]; but [hurt] only
those men which have not the seal of God in their
foreheads [not saved]. And to them [the
locust-scorpions (fallen angels)] it
was given that they should not kill them [the unsaved men],
but that they should be tormented [Gk: tortured: in pain]
five
months: and their torment was
as the torment of a scorpion, when he striketh a
man. And in those days shall
men seek death, and shall not find it;
and shall desire to die,
and death shall flee from them.
1.
locusts
= Dict: any of various large grasshoppers; specif. a migratory
grasshopper
often traveling in great swarms and destroying nearly all vegetation in
areas
visited. (locust: to 2 inches long)
(Rev 9:7-11) And the shapes of the
locusts were like
unto
horses prepared [armored] unto battle; and on their heads were
as it were crowns [of
blasphemy] like [imitation]
gold, and their faces were as
the faces of men [angels]. And they had hair as the hair of women,
and their teeth were
as the teeth of lions [for ripping, tearing, and the eating of,
the destruction of, flesh]. And they
had breastplates, as it were breastplates of iron [connoting “indestructible” spirits]; and the sound of their wings was as the sound of chariots of many
horses running to battle [in
imitation (counterfeit) of Joel 2:1-11].
And they had tails like unto scorpions, and there
were stings in
their tails [the results,
consequences, of their lies]: and their
power was to hurt men five
months. And they had a king over them, which is the angel of the
bottomless pit, whose name in
the Hebrew tongue is Abaddon
[Heb: a destroying angel], but in the Greek tongue hath his
name Apollyon [Gk:
a destroyer (Satan)].
(Rev 9:12-16) One woe
[Gk: an exclamation of grief] is past [the opening of the bottomless pit: Rev 9:2]; and,
behold, there
come two woes more hereafter. And the
sixth angel sounded, and I
heard a voice from the four horns [of power (the prayers of the Saints)] of the golden altar which is
before God [i.e., the altar of
incense], Saying to the sixth angel
which had the
trumpet, Loose the four angels which are bound [good angels are never bound, thus these four
angels are evil leaders,
fallen angels, perhaps from the four corners of the world] in the great river Euphrates [but
issuing forth geographically from the Euphrates river]. And the four angels were loosed,
which were prepared
for an hour, and a day, and a month, and a year [a very definite time, a “moment” in history], for to slay the third part of men [via
virtually
instantaneous nuclear war]
[1]
And the number of the army of the horsemen were
two hundred thousand thousand [i.e., 200 million fallen
angels
(unsaved persons) speaking vile blasphemy]:
and I heard the number of them.
1.
Commentary:
In hand-to-hand combat, it would take an exceedingly long time,
multiple years,
much more than a “moment,” to kill over 2 billion
men in the world
(population presently 7.7 billion).
(Rev 9:17-19) And thus I saw the
horses
[symbolizing obedient power] in the vision, and them that sat on
them [angelic riders in
control
of their horses of power (people)],
having breastplates of fire, and of jacinth, and brimstone: and the
heads of
the horses were as
the heads
of lions [the king of beasts (the unsaved people): Eccl 3:18]; and out of their mouths issued
[great roaring words] fire and smoke and brimstone [symbolizing evil, defiling words, lies,
i.e., blasphemy against God]. By
these three was the third part of men
killed, by the fire,
and by the smoke, and by the brimstone [i.e., nuclear war],
which
issued out of their mouths
[i.e.,
issued at their command]. For their
power is in their mouth [words,
deceptions, strong delusion], and in
their tails [the
results of
their lies, deceptions, delusions]:
for their tails were
like unto serpents [1], and had heads, and with them
they
do hurt.
1.
(Num
21:6) And
the LORD sent fiery
serpents among the people,
and they bit [entered into] the
people [with
poison-laden fangs (words) that issued forth from their mouths and
penetrated
into the people with the affirmation of sin];
and much people of Israel
died.
(Rev 9:20,21) And the rest of
the men
which were not killed by these plagues yet
repented not of [Gk: to
think differently, reconsider] the
works of their [own] hands
[versus the
works of God], that they should not
worship devils [fallen
angels], and idols [Gk: images; heathen gods]
of gold, and silver [symbols of
money], and brass, and stone, and of
wood [and edifices]: which neither can see, nor hear, nor
walk: Neither repented they [Gk:
to think differently, reconsider] of
their murders, nor of their sorceries [Gk: drugs (spell giving potions)], nor of their fornication [Gk: harlotry /// indulging in unlawful lust ///
whore], nor of their thefts.
