THE
TOWER OF BABEL IS ASCENDING
AGAIN
Commentary:
The tower of Babel is being rapidly built up with lie upon lie,
imitating, counterfeiting, paralleling, our progressive ascension into
Christ with false revelation upon false revelation.
(Gen 10:8-10)
And Cush [a son of Ham] begat Nimrod
[Heb: let us revolt; rebellious, an apostate; we
will rebel; rebellion] [a grandson of Noah]: he began to be a mighty
one [Heb: powerful; warrior, tyrant: champion] in the
earth. He was a mighty hunter [syn: predator; stalker,
tracker, pursuer, chaser, killer] [of the souls (the
thoughts) of men] before the LORD: wherefore it is [notoriously]
said [as a proverb, a truism], Even as Nimrod the mighty
hunter [3x for extreme emphasis] before the
LORD. And the beginning of his kingdom
was Babel [Heb: confusion
/// to overflow; by implif. to mix: mingle] [1,2], and Erech, and Accad,
and Calneh, in the land of Shinar [Heb: a plain in Babylon]
[Iraq].

the author of [the spirit of] confusion

peace, as in all churches of the saints.

closing, bringing (connecting) all us fish together]. And
it came to pass, as they journeyed from the east, that they found a
plain in the land of Shinar; and they dwelt there. And they said one
to another [without any prayer, i.e., without God], Go to [Heb:
come on], let us make [Heb: to be
or become white] brick [Heb: a
brick (from the whiteness of the clay)] [imitating the white robe of
righteousness], and burn [in an
effort to cleanse and purify] them thoroughly [Heb:
cremation] [1]. And they had brick [man made] for
[instead of] stone [God made], and slime
[syn: mud, slush, mire, sludge, slop] [2] had they for morter
[Heb: mire or clay]. And they said, Go to, let
us build us a city [of like believers] and a tower [Heb: a tower (from its
size or height); by analogy a rostrum: pulpit] [i.e., a speakers’
platform, a greatly magnified altar of men], whose top may reach unto heaven [heavy
connotations of pride]; and let us make us a
name [Heb: through the idea of a definite and conspicuous (worldly)
position; by implic. honor, authority, character: famous], lest
we be scattered [and therefore without power] abroad
upon the face of the whole earth.

wilt make me an altar [Heb: to slaughter
an animal (usually in sacrifice)] [as a substitute sacrifice for
ourselves; e.g., the altar of men, the tower of Babel (the altar
of confusion)] of stone [typifying
the Law, the original creation (order) of the Word of God], thou
shalt not build it of hewn [Heb: something cut, dressed stone: wrought
/// to cut off, portion out: take (out)] stone
[made by man]: for if thou lift up thy tool [i.e., thy thoughts]
upon it [to change it], thou hast polluted [Heb:
wounded; fig. profaned: defiled] it [i.e., and made it
“not true, un-original, false” by mingling man’s thoughts (expressed as his
actions) with God’s Thoughts (expressed as His Actions)].

impurities which forms on the top of liquids or bodies of water, often as the result
of boiling or fermentation. 2. the dross or refuse on top of molten metals. 3.
worthless parts or things, refuse. 4. a mean, despicable person, or such people
collectively.

= Dict.: 1. in ancient Rome, a) a curved, beaklike projection at the prow [bow]
of a ship; esp. such a projection on a war galley, used for ramming enemy
vessels; beak. b) the speakers’ platform.

[a type and shadow of the Second Advent of Jesus Christ] to see the city and the tower [Heb:
a tower (from its size or height); by analogy a rostrum: pulpit],
which the children of men [rather than “the children of God”]
builded. And the LORD said, Behold, the people is one
[in thought], and they have all one language; and this they begin
to do: and now nothing will be restrained [Heb:
inaccessible: withheld] from them, which they have imagined to do. Go to, let
us go down, and there confound [confuse, muddle, mix up] their language, that they may not
understand one another's speech. So the LORD scattered
them abroad from thence upon the face of all the earth: and they left off to build
the city. Therefore is the name of it called Babel [Heb: confusion /// to overflow;
by implif. to mix: mingle]; because the LORD did there confound the language of all the earth: and from
thence did the LORD scatter them abroad upon the face of all the
earth.
