#6: THE WILD MAN OF GAD (THAT’S MOST OF US), AND THE SWINE (THAT’S THEM)

07-30-17 This message may be viewed live streaming video at www.tabernacleofmoses.org commencing today Sunday at 11:00am, and repeated 24/7 for one week; thereafter, the video, audio, and study notes are archived.

The brightness of our revelations depends upon the correctness of our doctrines (our building blocks)

COME OUT OF THE MAN

(Mark 5:1-13)  And they came over unto the other side of the sea, into the country of the Gadarenes. Mar 5:2  And when he was come out of the ship, immediately there met him out of the tombs a man with an unclean spirit, Mar 5:3  Who had his dwelling among the tombs; and no man could bind him, no, not with chains: Mar 5:4  Because that he had been often bound with fetters and chains, and the chains had been plucked asunder by him, and the fetters broken in pieces: neither could any man tame him. Mar 5:5  And always, night and day, he was in the mountains, and in the tombs, crying, and cutting himself with stones. Mar 5:6  But when he saw Jesus afar off, he ran and worshipped him, Mar 5:7  And cried with a loud voice, and said, What have I to do with thee, Jesus, thou Son of the most high God? I adjure thee by God, that thou torment me not. Mar 5:8  For he said unto him, Come out of the man, thou unclean spirit. Mar 5:9  And he asked him, What is thy name? And he answered, saying, My name is Legion: for we are many. Mar 5:10  And he besought him much that he would not send them away out of the country. Mar 5:11  Now there was there nigh unto the mountains a great herd of swine feeding. Mar 5:12  And all the devils besought him, saying, Send us into the swine, that we may enter into them. Mar 5:13  And forthwith Jesus gave them leave. And the unclean spirits went out, and entered into the swine: and the herd ran violently down a steep place into the sea, (they were about two thousand;) and were choked in the sea.

1.     unclean = Gk: impure (ceremonially, morally) lewd, specifically demonic: foul, unclean.

2.     spirit = angel, demon, God, Christ, Holy Spirit: life, mind.

3.     devils = Gk: #1142; (to distribute fortunes); a demon or supernatural spirit (of a bad nature): devil.

4.     devil = Gk: #1228; a traducer [Dict: to say untrue things]: false accuser. [i.e., liars]

5.     angel = Heb: dispatched (as a deputy); a messenger: ambassador. [good angels and bad (d evil) angels]

(Luke 8:30)  And Jesus asked him, saying, What is thy name? And he said, Legion: because many devils were entered into him.

LEGION = MANY UNCLEAN THOUGHTS

(Luke 8:30)  And Jesus asked him [the “wild man” of Gad, a tribe that had refused to settle in the Promised Land, but instead chose to settle in the “wilderness” of the world, much as Lot (a saved man) chose to live in Sodom], saying, What is thy name? And he said, Legion [ref: a Roman legion of about 6,000 soldiers]: because many devils [i.e., an indefinite but very great number of devils, i.e., many fallen angels, demons, unclean spirits, many unclean thoughts] were entered into him.

(Mark 5:12,13)  And all the devils besought him, saying, Send us into the swine, that we may enter into them. And forthwith Jesus gave them leave. And the unclean spirits went out, and entered into the swine: and the herd ran violently down a steep place into the sea, (they were about two thousand;) and were choked in the sea.

DEVILS ARE DECEIVING THOUGHTS DERIVED FROM SATAN, THEY LIE TO US

(Mark 5:12,13)  And all the devils [the fallen angels, demons, unclean sprits, i.e., unclean thoughts] besought [pleaded to] him [Jesus], saying, Send [“command” Luke 8:31] us into the swine [Gk: hogs (pigs)] [a metaphor of unsaved men who are cloven (split) footed (attempting to walk in two worlds) but do not chew the cud, i.e., do not meditate, persons “on stony ground” (Mark 4:5,16)], that we may enter into them. And forthwith [Gk: immediately] Jesus gave them leave [Gk: allowed, permitted: suffered (them)] [“suffered” Luke 8:32]. And the unclean spirits [the fallen angels] went out [of the heretofore “wild man”], and entered into the swine [Gk: hogs (pigs)] [herein the swine are a larger symbol of all unbelieving “wild” mankind]: and the herd ran violently [Gk: (was) spurred on, urged on: plunged] down a steep place into the sea, (they were about two thousand;) and were choked in the sea. [Where do devils live (dwell)?]

DEVILS ARE LYING SPIRITS

(John 8:30-32)  As he spake these words, many believed on him. Then said Jesus to those Jews which believed on him, If ye continue in my word, then are ye my disciples indeed; And ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free [from your addictions].

1.     (John 14:6)  Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.

(John 8:43,44)  Why do ye not understand my speech? even because ye cannot hear my word. Ye are of your father the devil, and the lusts of your father ye will do. He was a murderer from the beginning, and abode not in the truth, because there is no truth in him. When he speaketh a lie, he speaketh of his own: for he is a liar, and the father of it.

1.     Commentary: “ye cannot hear my word” = ye cannot understand the “rhema (the revelation),” “the interpretation” (1 Cor 12:10), the intended meaning of “my word” [Gk: logos; something said (including the thought)]. You hear (see) the spoken word (the logos, the boxcar – the seed) but not the thought (the rhema, the cargo – the fruit) hidden inside the boxcar. Why not? Answer: because the “the door” (“I am the door” John 10:7,9) of the boxcar is not opened (closed) to you.

2.     (1 Kings 22:19-23)  And he [the prophet Micaiah] said, Hear thou therefore the word of the LORD: I saw the LORD sitting on his throne, and all the host of heaven standing by him on his right hand and on his left [Job 1:6; 2:1]. And the LORD said, Who shall persuade Ahab [the evil king], that he may go up and fall at Ramothgilead? And one said on this manner, and another said on that manner. And there came forth a spirit [an angel], and stood before the LORD, and said, I [(singular)] will persuade him. And the LORD said unto him, Wherewith? And he [the angel] said, I will go forth, and I will be a lying spirit [i.e., a fallen angel] in the mouth of all his [Ahab’s] prophets [(plural)]. And he [the LORD] said, Thou [the lying spirit, fallen angel] shalt persuade him [Ahab], and prevail also: go forth, and do so. Now therefore, behold, the LORD hath put a lying spirit [(singular)] [a fallen angel] in the mouth of all these thy prophets [(plural)], and the LORD hath spoken evil concerning thee [Ahab]. [repeated in 2 Chron 18:21,22]

3.     Commentary: Devils are lying sprits.

4.     (Isa 45:7)  I form the light, and create darkness: I make peace, and create evil: I the LORD do all these things.

5.     Commentary: devils are deceiving fallen angels, deceiving thoughts, lying spirits that seek to destroy mankind. The aggregate (syn: total, combined, cumulative, amassed) consequences of anyone receiving many devils (Luke 8:30), i.e., many deceiving thoughts, isstrong delusion” (2 Thes 2:11). “strong delusion” is happening now (a strong sign that the end is very near).

6.     (2 Thes 2:11)  And for this cause [i.e., their unbelief] God shall send them [the unsaved] strong [Gk: powerful] delusion, that they should believe a lie [Gk: falsehood: lying]:

a.     deceive = Dict: to make a person believe what is not true. 2. to be false to; betray. 3. implies deliberate misrepresentation of facts by words, actions, etc., generally to further one’s own ends.

b.     delusion = Dict: 1. belief in something that is contrary to fact or reality, resulting from deception, a misconception, or a mental disorder.

7.     (Isa 66:4)  I also will choose their delusions, and will bring their fears upon them; because when I called, none did answer; when I spake, they did not hear: but they did evil before mine eyes, and chose that in which I delighted not. [contrast with “the garden of Eden (Heb: delight)”  Gen 2:15]

1.     delusion = Heb: caprice (as a fit coming on), vexation; concretely a tyrant /// to effect thoroughly, overdo (in a bad sense), maltreat, pain, impose: defile, mock, work (wonderfully).

(2 Thes 2:11)  And for this cause [i.e., their unbelief] God shall send them [the unsaved] strong [Gk: powerful] delusion, that they should believe a lie [Gk: falsehood: lying]:

Amen
