HEARING PERSONS GET CHANGED INTO SOMETHING MUCH BETTER,

 METAMORPHIZED BY GOD

09-29-19 This message may be viewed live streaming video at www.tabernacleofmoses.org commencing today Sunday at 11:00 am, and repeated 24/7 for one week; thereafter, the video, audio, and study notes are archived.

God is Thought. The brightness of our revelations depends upon the correctness of our doctrines,

our building blocks (our thoughts, one upon another).

OUR METAMORPHOSIS FROM A LOWLY CATERPILLAR INTO A BEAUTIFUL BUTTERFLY

(Rom 12:1,2)  I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service. And be not conformed to [Gk: the same pattern as] this world: but be ye transformed [Gk: “metamorphose”: changed, transfigured] by the renewing [Gk: renovation] [re-newing] of your mind [thoughts], that ye may prove [confirm by personal evidence, show] what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.

1.     (Rom 10:17)  So then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.

2.     (Rev 2:7)  He that hath an ear, let him hear what the Spirit saith unto the churches; To him that overcometh [Gk: to subdue: conquer, prevail, get the victory] [over your self, over your natural man thoughts] will I give to eat of the tree of life, which is in the midst of the paradise of God.

THE TRANSFORMATION (METAMORPHOSIS) OF SIMON INTO PETER

(Luke 5:1-3)  And it came to pass, that, as the people pressed upon him to hear the word of God, he stood by the lake of Gennesaret [Heb: harp-shaped] [Galilee: Heb: a circle, circuit (a course of travel)] [7 miles wide; 12 miles long], And saw two ships [symbolically, the Old Testament and the New Testament] standing by the lake [supported by the water, a symbol of the Holy Spirit]: but the fishermen were gone out of them, and were washing [Gk: to rinse off] [preparing, cleansing, getting rid of the rubbish, the trash, the debris] their nets [for the work of the ministry] [a type of baptism] [1]. And he [Jesus] entered into one of the ships, which was Simon's [Heb: hearing] [i.e., the New Testament ship], and prayed [Gk: requested] him that he would thrust out a little from the land [evoking an appropriate sensual image of “sowing seed”]. And he sat down [a position of authority, as covering the audience], and taught the people out of the ship [out of the New Testament].

1.     (2 Tim 2:15)  Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing [Gk: to make a straight cut; fig. to dissect (expound) correctly] the word of truth.

a.      (Eph 5:26)  That he might sanctify and cleanse it [you] with the washing of water by the word,

(Luke 5:4)  Now when he had left speaking [to the (dry) people standing on the sea shore, standing on dry land without the Holy Spirit of God, and some wading out closer to Him], he said unto Simon [Heb: hearing], Launch out into the deep [Gk: profound: depth], and let down your nets for a draught [Gk: a catch, haul (of fish)].

(Luke 5:5-7)  And Simon [Heb: hearing] answering said unto him, Master [Gk: teacher], we have toiled [Gk: to feel fatigue, worked hard] all the night, and have taken nothing: nevertheless at thy word I will let down the net. And when they [Simon and his hired helpers (crew)] had this done, they inclosed a great multitude of fishes: and their net brake [Gk: to tear asunder: rend] [1]. And they beckoned unto their partners, which were in the other ship [the Old Testament], that they should come and help them. And they came [with their hired helpers (crew)], and filled both the ships, so that they began to sink [submerging into the glorious depths of the Holy Spirit, leaving this world, and entering into the next].

1.     Commentary: Why did the net brake?

(Luke 5:8-11)  When Simon [Heb: hearing] Peter [Gk: a piece of (the) rock] saw it, he fell down at Jesus' knees, saying, Depart from me; for I am a sinful man, O Lord. For he was astonished, and all [including the hired helpers (crew)] that were with him, at the draught of the fishes which they had taken: And so was also James, and John, the sons of Zebedee [Heb: giving], which were partners with Simon [i.e., they also “heard”]. And Jesus said unto Simon [Heb: hearing], Fear not; from henceforth thou shalt catch men. And when they had brought their ships to land, they [the “hearing” Peter, James, and John] forsook all, and followed him.

1.     Commentary: But what happened to the hired helpers (crews)? Our Rescue Mission ship is like that, we have a few hearing believers in our crew, and many hired helpers. So indeed are today’s Churches.
