THERE ARE ONLY TWO KINDS OF FOLKS: WHO ARE YOU?

The brightness of our revelations depend upon the correctness of our doctrines (our building blocks)

BLESSED FOLKS, AND UNGODLY FOLKS

(Psa 1:1-3)  Blessed is the man that walketh not in the counsel of the ungodly, nor standeth in the way of sinners, nor sitteth in the seat of the scornful. But his delight is in the law of the LORD; and in his law doth he meditate day and night. And he shall be like a tree planted by the rivers of water [symbolizing the Holy Spirit], that bringeth forth his fruit in his season; his leaf also shall not wither; and whatsoever he doeth shall prosper [Dict: be favorable, flourish, succeed].

(Psa 1:4-6)  The ungodly are not so: but are like the chaff which the wind [also symbolizing the Holy Spirit] driveth away. Therefore the ungodly shall not stand in the judgment, nor sinners in the congregation of the righteous. For the LORD knoweth the way of the righteous: but the way of the ungodly shall perish [Heb: be destroyed, shall not escape].

1.     chaff = Dict: 1. the husks of wheat or other grain separated in threshing or winnowing. 2. anything worthless.

A FEW WILL UNDERSTAND, AND MANY WILL NOT UNDERSTAND

(Mat 7:13,14)  Enter ye in [to Heaven] at the strait [Gk: narrow] gate: for wide is the gate, and broad is the way, that leadeth to destruction [Gk: ruin or loss: damnation, waste], and many there be which go in thereat: Because strait is the gate, and narrow is the way [i.e., obeying the Bible], which leadeth unto life [happy eternal life in Heaven], and few there be that find it.

(Luke 8:11)  Now the parable is this: The seed is the word of God.

NOT SAVED PEOPLE

(Mat 13:18,19)  Hear ye therefore the parable of the sower [a “farmer” who scatters seed]. When any one heareth the word of the kingdom, and understandeth it not, then cometh the wicked one [Satan], and catcheth away [Gk: seizes, pulls up] that [seed] which was sown in his heart. This is he which received seed by the way [Gk: road] side.

1.     parable = Gk: a fictitious narrative (of common life conveying a moral).

NOT SAVED PEOPLE

(Mat 13:20,21)  But he that received the seed into stony [Gk: rocky] places [“in his heart”], the same is he that heareth the word, and anon [Gk: immediately] with joy receiveth it; Yet hath he not root [“the root of David” Rev 5:5 & 22:16 (Jesus Christ)] in himself, but dureth [endures] for a while: for when tribulation or persecution ariseth because of the word, by and by he is offended [Gk: entrapped, tripped up; stumbles, enticed to sin] [they “fall away” Luke 8:13: Gk: remove themselves, revolt, desert: withdraw self].

SAVED PEOPLE

GOING TO HEAVEN BUT ONLY AFTER SOME REALLY PAINFUL TEACHING

(Mat 13:22)  He also that received seed among the thorns is he that heareth the word; and the care [Gk: distractions] of this world, and the deceitfulness of riches, choke [Gk: strangle completely /// take by the throat] the word, and he becometh unfruitful [Gk: barren: without fruit]. [“bring no fruit to perfection” (Luke 8:14): Gk: to completion; maturity: ripeness]

BRINGING IMMATURE TREES TO MATURITY

(Judg 8:4-9)  And Gideon came to Jordan, and passed over, he, and the three hundred men that were with him, faint, yet pursuing them [the remaining 15,000 Midianite warriors of the original 135,000]. And he said unto the men of Succoth [Isrealite - Christian], Give, I pray you, loaves of bread unto the people that follow me; for they be faint, and I am pursuing after Zebah [Heb: sacrifice] and Zalmunna [Heb: withheld], kings of Midian [Heb: brawling, contentious, discord, strife] [a type and shadow of natural unsaved men]. And the princes of Succoth said, Are the hands of Zebah and Zalmunna now in thine hand [Heb: power], that we should give bread unto thine army? And Gideon said, Therefore when the LORD hath delivered Zebah and Zalmunna into mine hand, then I will tear your flesh with the thorns [“among the thorns” Mat 13:22] of the wilderness and with briers [thorny bushes].

(Judg 8:8,9)  And he went up thence to Penuel [Isrealite - Christian], and spake unto them likewise: and the men of Penuel answered him as the men of Succoth had answered him. And he spake also unto the men of Penuel, saying, When I come again in peace, I will break down this tower [Heb: castle, pulpit] [“stony places” Mat 13:20] [pride].

(Judg 8:10-12)  Now Zebah and Zalmunna [sacrifice withheld] were in Karkor, and their hosts with them, about fifteen thousand men, all that were left of all the hosts of the children of the east: for there fell an hundred and twenty thousand men that drew sword. And Gideon went up by the way of them that dwelt in tents on the east of Nobah and Jogbehah, and smote the host: for the host was secure [thought itself safe]. And when Zebah and Zalmunna [sacrifice withheld] fled, he pursued after them, and took the two kings of Midian, Zebah and Zalmunna [sacrifice withheld], and discomfited [i.e., terrified and wounded] all the host.

(Judg 8:13-17)  And Gideon the son of Joash returned from battle before the sun [the dawn] was up, And caught a young man of the men of Succoth, and enquired of him: and he described unto him the princes of Succoth, and the elders thereof, even threescore and seventeen men [77 men – almost 777 men (Rev 13:18, 14:1), but not quite yet]. And he came unto the men of Succoth, and said, Behold Zebah and Zalmunna [sacrifice withheld], with whom ye did upbraid me, saying, Are the hands of Zebah and Zalmunna [sacrifice withheld] now in thine hand [Heb: power], that we should give bread unto thy men that are weary? And he took the elders of the city, and thorns of the wilderness and briers, and with them he taught [Heb: instructed: (for them to) have understanding] the men of Succoth [“among the thorns” Mat 13:22]. And he beat down the tower [“stony places” Mat 13:20] [pride] of Penuel, and slew [Heb: killed, slaughtered] the men of the city.

SAVED PEOPLE

(Mat 13:23) But he that received seed into the good ground is he that heareth the word, and understandeth it [in great and vital contrast to those who “understandeth it not” Mat 13:19]; which also beareth fruit, and bringeth forth, some an hundredfold, some sixty, some thirty [an apple tree begins with one apple seed and brings forth many apples (seeds)].

1.     Commentary: “beareth fruit” = What kind of fruit? Well, what kind of “seed” was sown “in his heart”? Answer: “The seed is the word of God” (Luke 8:11). Therefore, after the “seed” is sown by entering into your heart through your “hearing” (the Bible was almost exclusively an oral tradition until about the 1611 KJV mass produced printed edition) what kind of fruit will be brought forth out of your heart and pass through your mouth? Do you understand?

2.     (Rom 10:17)  So then faith [Gk: belief] cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.

a.     Commentary: Faith (belief) comes by “hearing” the audible/written word of God. Please note that faith does not come by “sight,” i.e., seeing miracles, “(For we walk by faith, not by sight:)” 2 Cor 5:7).
