The height of our

(Mat

Afterward [i.e.,
after the door to heaven was shut] [1] came also
the other virgins [the
five unsaved foolish virgins],
saying, Lord, Lord, open to us. But he answered and
said, Verily [Gk: truth] I say unto you, I know you not [I am not intimate with you, I am not in you]. Watch [Gk: keep
awake: be vigilant] therefore, for
ye know neither the day nor the hour wherein the Son of man cometh [His Second Coming].
1.
Commentary: “Afterward”
= Please note the key word “Afterward,”
indicating that a
time interval has passed. “Afterward” seems to allude to the time interval between the
“rapture” and the judgment.
(Mat
25:14-15) For the kingdom of
heaven is
as a man travelling into a far country [Acts
1:9], who
called his own servants
[professing Christians, glasses, cups, “vessels” Hos 8:8; Mat 25:4;
Acts 9:15], and delivered unto them his
goods [1]. And unto one he gave five talents [Gk: a certain weight (amount)] [of seed] [2,3], to another two [talents of seed],
and to another one
[talent of seed]; to every man
according to his several
[Gk:
his own] ability [capacity] [“to each in proportion to his
own personal ability” Amplif.] [4,5];
and straightway took his journey [Gk:
go (travel) into a far country].
1.
Commentary: the
“goods” are that which proceeds
from God,
i.e., His Word (logos) is “the seed” (Luke 8:11) and Jesus Christ (John
1:14).
a.
(Luke
8:11) Now the parable is this: The seed is the word of God.
b.
(John
1:14) And
the
Word [Gk: logos] [of God]
was made flesh [in
Jesus Christ (His seed)],
and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his
glory, the glory as of the only
begotten of the Father,) full of
grace and truth.
2.
talent = Gk: to
bear; a balance (as
supporting weights), a certain weight.
3.
(Mat 11:28-30)
Come
unto me, all ye
that labour
and are heavy
laden [Gk:
loaded up (as a vessel or animal), overburdened], and I will
give you rest.
Take my yoke upon you, and
learn
of me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and ye shall find
rest unto your
souls. For my yoke is
easy [Gk: in manner or
morals: better, good, kind], and
my burden is light [Gk:
easy].
a.
yoke = Gk: to join; a
coupling, fig. servitude (a law or obligation), the beam of the balance
(as
connecting the scales).
4.
ability = Gk: force,
specifically miraculous power: abundance, strength, mighty (wonderful)
work.
5.
ability =
Dict: 1. power or capacity
to do or act in any relation. 2. competence in any occupation or field
of
action, from the possession of capacity,
skill, means, or other qualification. 3. talents;
mental gifts or endowments.
(Mat
25:16-18)
Then he that had received the five talents
went and traded [“Occupy
till
I come.” Luke 19:13] with the same,
and made them other
five
talents. And likewise he that had
received two [talents], he also gained other two [talents]. But
he that had received one [talent] went and
digged in the earth [(determined
hard
work)], and hid [Gk: concealed, keep secret] his lord's money [i.e., hid from others his lord’s substance
(means) of barter].
(Mat
25:19-21)
After a long time the lord of those
servants cometh [(Hallelujah!)], and reckoneth [“settled accounts” Amplif.]
with them. And so he that had
received five talents came and brought other
five talents [i.e.,
revelations bearing more seed],
saying, Lord, thou deliveredst unto me
five talents: behold, I have gained beside them
five talents more. His
lord said unto him, Well done, thou
good and faithful servant: thou hast been faithful
over a few things,
I will make thee ruler over many things: enter thou
into the joy
of thy lord.
(Mat
25:22,23)
He also that had received two talents
came and said, Lord, thou deliveredst unto me two talents: behold, I
have
gained two other talents [revelations
bearing more seed] beside them. His
lord said unto him, Well done, good and
faithful servant; thou
hast been faithful over a few things, I will make
thee ruler over
many things: enter thou into the joy of
thy lord.
(Mat
25:24,25)
Then he which had received the one talent
came and said, Lord, I knew thee that thou art an hard [Gk: dry, hard or tough, (fig. harsh, severe):
fierce] man,
reaping where
thou hast not sown
[stealing], and gathering where thou
hast not
strawed [Gk: scattered]: And I was afraid, and went
and hid
thy talent in the [dry] earth: lo, there
thou hast that is
thine [without an increase].
(Mat
25:26,27)
His lord answered and said unto him, Thou wicked [Gk: hurtful, evil] and
slothful servant [too lazy
to check Me out], thou
knewest [Gk: understood]
[from his erroneous unsaved
perceptions] that I reap where I
sowed not, and gather where I have not strawed: Thou oughtest therefore
to have
put my money to the exchangers [Gk: money brokers or bankers],
and then at my [second] coming
I should have received mine own with usury [Gk: interest, (produce)].
(Mat
25:28-30)
Take therefore the talent from him, and give it unto him which hath ten
talents.
For unto every one that hath [capacity
to understand – an open cup, glass, vessel]
shall be given [more seed], and he shall have abundance [of understanding]:
but from him that hath not [capacity
to understand – a closed cup, glass, vessel]
shall be taken away even that [understanding]
which he
hath [“stony places” Mat 13:20]. And cast ye the unprofitable [Gk: useless] servant
into outer darkness [absolute
solitary darkness, no light at all… eternally]:
there shall be weeping and gnashing of
teeth.
