The depth of our revelations depends upon the correctness of our doctrine.

(Amos 8:11) Behold, the days come, saith the Lord GOD, that I will send a famine in the land, not a famine of bread, nor a thirst for water, but of hearing the words of the LORD:

(1 Kings 18:17-19) And it came to pass, when Ahab saw Elijah [Heb: The LORD is My God], that Ahab said unto him, Art thou he that troubleth Israel? And he answered, I have not troubled Israel; but thou, and thy father's house, in that ye have forsaken the commandments of the LORD, and thou hast followed Baalim [Baal plural, i.e., gods]. Now therefore send, and gather to me all Israel unto mount Carmel [Heb: fruitful (plentiful) field (place)], and the prophets of Baal four hundred and fifty, and the prophets of the groves [so named for the goddess Asherah or Ashtoreth] four hundred, which eat at Jezebel's table.

  1. (1 Kings 16:30) And Ahab the son of Omri did evil in the sight of the LORD above all that were before him.

  2. The Nelson Study Bible: Ahab is generally recognized as the most evil king in the history of Israel. Jezebel’s influence over her husband was much stronger than the godly influence of the prophet Elijah.

  3. Commentary: As “the most evil king,” Ahab qualifies as a type and shadow of The Antichrist, inhabited by Satan himself, rather than being inhabited by Satan’s demons (fallen angels), as lesser folks are. Thus king Ahab is the physical representation of Satan, then known as Baal.

  4. Nelson’s Illustrated Bible Dict: “Baal” = The chief male diety of the Phoenicians and Canaanites; a fertility and nature god.

  5. Commentary: Baal is a type and shadow of Satan who is a spirit. Thus the Lord God “will send a famine in the land” (Amos 8:11) that directly opposes Baal on two levels: physical and spiritual.

  6. groves = Heb: happy; Asherah, Ashtoreth; a Phoenician goddess.

  7. Nelson’s Illustrated Bible Dict: Asherah is the wife of Baal in Canaanite mythology; Ashtoreth is the Syrian and Phoenician goddess of the moon, sexual love, and fertility.

  8. Nelson’s Illustrated Bible Dict: “Jezebel” = The wife of Ahab, king of Israel. Jezebel was a tyrant who corrupted her husband, as well as the nation, by promoting pagan worship. She was reared in Sidon [also spelled Zidon, the city of the low-faith widow woman and her son that Elijah had lived with and been miraculously sustained], a commercial city on the coast of the Mediterranean Sea, known for its idolatry and vice. When she married Ahab and moved to Jezreel, a city that served Jehovah, she decided to turn it into a city that worshiped Baal, a Phoenician god. The wicked, idolatrous queen soon became the power behind the throne. Obedient to her wishes, Ahab erected a sanctuary for Baal and supported hundreds of pagan prophets (1 Kings 18:19).

  9. Summation: Ahab and wife Jezebel are the physical aspect of Baal and wife Astoreth who are spirits.

(Rev 2:18,19) And unto the angel of the church in Thyatira write; These things saith the Son of God, who hath his eyes like unto a flame of fire, and his feet are like fine brass; I know thy works, and charity, and service, and faith, and thy patience, and thy works; and the last [works] to be more than the first [works].

(Rev 2:20-23) Notwithstanding [Gk: nevertheless] I have a few things against thee, because thou sufferest [Gk: permit] [allow] that woman Jezebel, which calleth herself a prophetess, to teach and to seduce my servants to commit fornication [Gk: to act the harlot, (lit.) indulge in unlawful lust (of either sex), or (fig.) practice idolatry] [1], and to eat things sacrificed unto idols [i.e., ingesting food previously dedicated to demons (fallen angels) which the demons have received and are now attached to]. And I gave her space [Gk: time] to repent of her fornication [Gk: harlotry (including adultery and incest); figuratively idolatry]; and she repented not. Behold, I will cast her into a bed, and them that commit adultery with her into great tribulation [GREAT TRIBULATION], except they repent of their deeds [2,3]. And I will kill her children [the tares: Mat 13:25,38] with death; and all the churches shall know that I am he which searcheth the reins [Gk: the inmost mind] and hearts [Gk: the thoughts or feelings (mind)]: and I will give unto every one of you [the unsaved] according to your works [“according to their works… the second death” Rev 20:11-15].

  1. Commentary: “to act the harlot” = Hypothesis: perhaps, during the brief time of the momentary sexual pinnacle of the ultimate pleasurable “oneness” that we are given by God to experience in this world as human beings, the union of sexual consummation, that at that time the exchange of angels might occur, fallen angels (hate) in an illicit ungodly relationship, and good angels (love) in a God approved relationship? Certainly body fluids (physical) and emotions (mental, and thus spiritual) are exchanged.

  2. Commentary: “great tribulation” = This phrase occurs 3x in the Bible: Mat 24:21; Rev 2:22; 7:14.

  3. tribulation = Gk: pressure (lit. or fig.): affliction, anguish, burdened, persecution, trouble /// to crowd: afflict, narrow, throng, suffer tribulation, trouble /// a rut or worn track: path /// a wound.

    1. (Dan 7:25) And he [The Antichrist, Ahab in type, Satan in fact] shall speak great words [Heb: commands, discourses] against the most High, and shall wear out [Heb: (but used only in a mental sense); to afflict] the saints of the most High, and think to change times and laws: and they [the saints and the laws] shall be given into his hand [Heb: power] until [Heb: during, while] a time and times and the dividing of time [“three years and six months” Luke 4:25; James 5:17] [are accomplished].

(Rev 2:24,25) But unto you [the hearer/reader now] I say, and unto the rest in Thyatira [who are saved], as many as have not this doctrine [i.e., those who suffer not a woman to teach nor to ursurp authority over the man: Rev 2:20], and which have not known the depths of Satan, as they [those women] speak [of it]; I will put upon you none other burden. But that which ye have already hold fast till I come.

  1. (1 Tim 2:11-15) Let the woman learn [Gk: to understand] in silence [Gk: stillness: quietness] with all subjection [Gk: subordination /// obedience]. But I suffer [Gk: allow, permit] not a woman to teach, nor to usurp authority over [Gk: dominate] the man, but to be in silence [Gk: stillness: quietness]. For Adam was first formed, then Eve. And Adam was not deceived, but the woman being deceived was in the transgression [Gk: violation /// go contrary to, to violate a command]. Notwithstanding she shall be saved in childbearing, if they continue in faith and charity and holiness with sobriety [Gk: soundness of mind, (lit.) sanity or (fig.) self control: - soberness.

  2. (1 Peter 3:7) Likewise, ye husbands, dwell with them [your wives] according to knowledge [Gk: understanding], giving honour [Gk: value, esteem, dignity: precious] unto the wife, as unto the weaker vessel [container], and as being heirs together of the grace of life; that your prayers be not hindered.

  3. (Gen 3:16,17) Unto the woman he said, I will greatly multiply thy sorrow and thy conception [Heb: pregnancy]; in sorrow thou shalt bring forth children; and thy desire [Heb: stretching out after, longing for] shall be to thy husband, and he shall rule [Gk: have dominion, govern, reign, have power] over thee. And unto Adam he said, Because thou hast hearkened [Heb: listened obediently] unto the voice of thy wife [instead of obeying Me (idolatry)], and hast eaten of the tree, of which I commanded thee, saying, Thou shalt not eat of it: cursed is the ground for thy sake; in sorrow shalt thou eat of it all the days of thy life;

    1. sorrow = Heb: worrisomeness, labor or pain: toil /// (in a bad sense) to worry, pain or anger: displeasure, grieve, hurt, make sorry, vex.

(Rev 2:26-29) And he that overcometh [Gk: to subdue: conquer, prevail, get the victory] [over his or her inner old creature], and keepeth my works unto the end, to him will I give power over the nations [Gk: Gentiles, pagans]: And he shall rule them [Gk: to tend as a shepherd] with a rod of iron [i.e., the Law]; as the [earthen] vessels of a potter shall they be broken to shivers [Gk: crushed completely] [totally humbled]: even as I received of my Father. And I will give him the morning star. He that hath an ear, let him hear what the Spirit saith unto the churches.

  1. (John 12:48) He that rejecteth me, and receiveth not my words [Gk: rhema] [revelations], hath one that judgeth him: the word [Gk: logos] [the Law] that I have spoken, the same shall judge him in the last day.

  2. (Rev 19:15) And out of his mouth [i.e., His spoken words] goeth a sharp [twoedged] sword [rhema: Eph 6:17; logos: Heb 4:12], that with it he should smite the nations: and he shall rule them with a rod of iron: and he treadeth the winepress of the fierceness and wrath of Almighty God.

  3. (Rev 22:16) I Jesus have sent mine angel to testify unto you these things in the churches. I am the root and the offspring of David, and the bright [Gk: radiant] and morning star.
